Xiaomi add their latest products called Mi Power Bank 3i in both 10000mAh and 20000mAh. Indeed it’s their lastest product in the list of power bank. But if we go back to their generation product the 2i, there’s a lot similarities between them.

Mi Power Bank 3i vs 2i: Design & Features & Specifications:

Xiaomi lacks one thing is that the design because their products are really common even their Smartphone or Power Bank. Even the newer version is the same as the older edition. The only change is the no. of the input and output.

Both the 10000mAh are slim but not that much as compare URBN and SYSKA etc. However the 20000mAh are more bigger and a add more weight on it which has a total of 430 G.

This time Mi bring their products in a new and a tricky way. With out much major development they add more input and output to it.

There is Micro USB input and USB-A outputs in the older version 2i in 10000mAh/20000mah. However in the newer version 3i 10000mah/20000mah, a Micor-USB for input and a USB-A and Type-C for output(Type-C is only available in 20000mah).

There’s also a shift in the security layer as well, in the older version there’s only 9 layers are available. But they add 3 more with the latest one, which makes 12 of them. That means it’s more well built and secured in terms of protection in 3i.

The charging time of Mi Power Bank 10000mAh 3i is 4 Hours if you an 18W charger. But the 18W charger that support DC 5.1V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5 A output. If you a 10 Watt charger it can take upto 6 Hours. Here’s 10W charger that refers to DC 5.0V/2.0A output.

On the the other hand the 2i can take approx 4.5 hours(18 W- 9V/2A charger, standard USB cable) OR Approx 6 hours( 10-5V/2A charger, standard USB cable).

In Mi 20000mAh Power Bank 3i to get fully charge it could take upto 7 Hours by using an 18 Watt charger. If you use a 10Watt Charger it can take upto 10 Hours. On the other hand, in 2i the charging time is the same. Yet the output power is the same as 10000mAh.

How Many Times Does It Charge The Mobile Phone?

Wether theMi 2i Power Bank or 3i has the ability to charge a 3000mAh phone battery 4 times. And a 4000mAh phone battery 3 times. Which means in total the 20000mAh Power bank has a total capacity of 12000 or more mAh.

In 10000mAh it can charge a 3000mAh phone battery 2.1 times. And it charge a 4000mAh phone battery 1.4 times. Which it has a total capacity of approximate 7000mAh.

Input & Output:

Both the power bank support the two way 18 Watt fast charge. The advantages is that both way filling up the device juice is gonna be fast.

However in the older version 2i there’s a support for only Micro USB for charging the power bank. In the newer version you can fill up the power bank by using Type-C or Micro USB. This makes a less burden for searching the particular cable for charging.

In terms of output the Mi Power Bank 3i 20000mAh has more advance when compare to others. That’s because of the power delivery support. Which it helps in type-c to type-c charging output and also supports type c to lightning charging across multiple devices. The type-c port also acts as an input source for re-charging the power bank.

While on the other hand whether 2i or 3i 10000mAh/20000mah hasn’t this type of features available. It has the support of only Dual Output.

Mi Power Bank 3i vs 2i: Which One Should You Buy:

Well, to be honest there’s is not much improvement can be seen. There’s only a slight improvement is there.

However if you confuse and don’t decide which one to buy? I should recommend you to go for the newer version that is Mi Power Bank 3i 10000mAh or 20000mAh.
